From IRIS Messaging Server

The present forcus of the IRIS deployers is the successful integration of IRIS services into the academic life of the members of the RVRJC community. Thus, heavy focus will be on developing Tutorials, expanding FAQs, servicing the Help Desk and popularizing the IRIS services amoing the community.

Another aspect is the continuous evolution of IRIS services to suit the needs and the taste of the participants. Heavy work is required on the presentation side of the services. Those who are interested in any of the two following areas are requested to send an e-mail to IRIS@rvrjcce.ac.in with subject line [IRIS Volunteer].

In summary, the two focus areas are:

• Help Services
• Graphics and Styling

Help Desk

Typical work in this area involves developing visual tutorials, use cases and answering FAQ from the users. A participant requires the following skill set.

• Command over computer usage

[Criterion: If you are the sort of person who forget time while working - not browsing - on the computer, you are in.]

• Eagerness to help
• Command over english

Graphics and Styling

We are looking for volunteers in the following areas:

• Graphics
  • Painters and pencil sketchers
  • Computer artists
  • Experts in Adobe products or equivalents

• Styling
  • Strong knowledge of HTML and CSS
  • Command over Javascript

Software Developers

• Strong knowledge of the LAMP stack
  • Strong knowledge of HTML and CSS
  • Command over Javascript
